Hemerdon Recreation Ground Orchard

A lovely variety of trees

Hemerdon Recreation Ground Orchard is situated opposite the village hall and next door to an attractive area of interesting mixed woodland planted in the millenium. The orchard has been recently planted with good sized trees. Continuing the theme of the millenium woodland, the community orchard is a thoughtful mixture of fruit, nut and woodland trees. Planted to offer colour and produce around the year. The trees are planted towards the edge of the site, which was an agricultural field, leaving a lovely open space for walking and dog walking and apple pressing in the future.

It is a windy spot, so take your hat! Orchard volunteers are finding planting solutions to protect the trees from their windy position. The views are great and there's plenty to enjoy and admire at Hemerdon Community Orchard.
